Glue the tip of a #20 floral wire on a medium foam flower cone and let dry.
Roll a piece of white gumpaste to about 1/16 inch thick. Place the gardenia cutter upside down and put the gumpaste on top. Pass a rolling pin and press slightly to perforate the gum paste.
Place the petals on a petal foam pad and thin the edges using a ball tool.
Brush some edible glue on the center of flower. Place the petals on a thin foam for support and insert the flower cone in the middle
Moisten the cone with edible glue and attach the petals on a circular manner so it creates a spiral movement to the petals.
As the petals are attached one by one, make sure that the cone is no longer visible from the top of the flower.
This is how the center of the flower should look like. —
Cut more petals using the same size of cutter you used previously. Do the same procedure as above and attach the petals alternately between the first layer of petals.
This is how the second layer of petals should look like.
Roll more white gum paste but make it a little thicker than the first 2 layers of petals so it spreads out a little when the edges are thinned with the ball tool.
Tear each petal and attach it to the first two layers of petals as shown.
Roll the 4th layer of petals slightly thicker and spread the petals a bit to make the petals look bigger. Cup the middle of each petal by pressing the ball tool on the center of each petal.
Moisten the center of the petals using edible glue and insert the flower assembly on top. Dry the flower on a large single petal former.
Let the flower dry for at least 8 hours.
Voila! Easy Gardenia!
