This Funky Oreo Snail Tutorial is super easy to make, great fun and you can make any colour combination you like. Also they are easy enough to make with your little ones!
I was in a particularly colourful mood on the day these were made!!
To begin you will need:
- Oreo Mould
- Oreos
- Your choice of chocolate colours
- Modelling Chocolate or fondant
As my Oreos are going to be Funky snails I added three different colours into the moulds.
Fill your Oreo moulds 1/3 full, place in an Oreo and then add more melted chocolate to fill the mould.
Tap your mould against the bench to ensure there are no air bubbles and ensure have all the Oreo biscuit encased in chocolate.
Wipe away any excess chocolate and place in the freezer (for rapid set) or fridge and leave until they pop out easily from the mould.
Next take some modelling chocolate or fondant in as many colours as you desire.
Twist these together to form a tie dyed sausage!
This will be the body to your snail shell!
Attach these to the Oreo Snail shell and shape it to fit.
If you are using modelling chocolate you will not need to “glue” it on, the modelling chocolate is sticky enough to adhere to the shell itself.
As you can see from the picture I have piped some chocolate onto the shell as an added detail.
Next take some white sequin sprinkles and an edible pen. Colour in some black to create your snails eyes.
Attach your snails eyes, as they like to see where they are going!!
Next, take some small circle cutters (I like piping tips) and punch out some circles to make your snails antennas.
Lastly, feel free to bling up your snails any way you please!
