to give an idea of scale (the bottle is a 2 litre)- this was the quantity of cake required - 6 sheet cakes measuring 11" x 15"....

The board was custom made and covered in a food-safe foil covering....

Using an actual-size template drawn onto graph paper, cut out and then used as a stencil to mark the outline of the guitar onto the cake. Cut the cake out

entirely covered in buttercream...

Details all marked out according to stencil....



secured with a small amount of royal icing... First layer of confectioners' varnish painted on...

painting the strawberry liquorice strings silver - using edible silver lustre mixed with a clear alcohol...

The details - made from modelling fondant....

The finished article alongside the real guitar - the plate was a different colour as the recipient was due to have their actual guitar changed
