It was a lemon cake with strawberry filling, one of my favorite combinations.

Started with the base. Excuse the powdered sugar which was used to help roll out the fondant...it was dusted off later.

I then took a thinner piece of cake to make the front pocket and more fondant to make the flap.

My favorite part of this cake was all the stitching detail. TIP: I used a cutter/embrosser and used the ridged wheel to make the stitch look.

I spray-painted the hardware silver, waited for it to completely dry, and then rubbed some black fondant on it to give it the tarnished look.
