Print out your template. Tape it to a coffee can or something like a vase(what I am using). Then tape a piece of wax paper over it. Prop it up with towels or whatever...to keep it from rolling while you work. You will need at least 5 days for this project...but I would make it 7 for sure.
Next you will need a mat, 2 paint brushes, an extruder, the large circle disc and the square disc. tylose glue, water, and vegetable shortening, exacto knife, gumpaste fondant mix...I use 50/50.
ok so start with the square disc 1st. Clay gun extruder.
I start with a bit of water(tiny amount) I paint it on where I am starting...this will hold your gumpaste in place. Be careful not to add too much or it will take forever to dry.
Painting it on the bottom piece 1st.
Add your gumpaste mix. Use your extacto knife ti cut it to size.
Now again with each piece add a tiny bit of water.
Now add a bit of glue where you next piece will attach to the 1st piece.
Extrude now using the circle disc...following the out line of your template. glue to attach.
Now continue with your mirror image on the other side gluing in place. then using the other end of your paint brush make indention marks where the next worms will go.
add glue to every place the gumpaste will touch.
now extrude the next 2 worms and add them
I extrude this on on the mat so I can curl the ends..and glue the end so it will stay.
glue and attach them one on each side.
here is what it will look like.
now extrude w small piece for the top part.
creating a crease
pinch ends together and glue.
glue to tiara.
Here I made curls and glued then on.
There are the last curls, gluing as I go (also adding a tiny bit of water so it doesn't slide much.)
using a tip or a tiny cutter...cut out circles
attach with glue.
Here it is done. Now for the 1st hour you will have to keep going back and making sure that your side pieces are staying in place and continue to push then back as needed. Now this will need to dry for at least 3 or 4 days. Then you will stand it up on your cookie sheet, cut off your wax paper and GENTLY pull the paper off the crown. Then it will have to dry another day or 2. Then you can paint...I hand painted it and added disco dust.
Finished product!
